First, I ask forgiveness for any grammatical errors or any other
errors. I hope it’s understandable.
I want to share my thoughts about what is happening with
Crossroads, what I see as a little compromise with some Christians. It was said
that Crossroads linked beastility and homosexuality together; I'm
not going to comment on how or why this happened. I want to point out what
I think is being compromised.
First I want to point out what God’s Divinely Inspired word has to say in both the Torah and the
I want to point out how a Hebrew word (H8441) is used in context of sexual
sin, the word “abomination”
First. The surrounding
nations were never required to obey Jewish dietary laws and other regulations
but the bible refers to the sins of the surrounding nations as abominations
see Deuteronomy 18:9, Deuteronomy 20:18, 2Kings 16:3,
2Kings 21:2, 2Chronicles 36:14.
Second. In Leviticus18 the word abomination
is used in the context of the Chapter in verse 24-30 the context is
everything listed in chapter 18 are called abominations.
In context God says, not to do what was done in Egypt or in the land of Canaan,
see Lev 18:1-3. The sexual sins of the nations included, incest, adultery,
homosexuality in Lev 18:22, beastility in Lev 18:23, All these sexual
sins that were committed by the surrounding nations are called, abominations.
Third. How the New Testament views homosexuality. The context
of Romans 1.
The context of Paul's Divinely Inspired reasoning for him
speaking against homosexuality starts in Rom 1:18-23. Paul alludes back to
creation in these verses, Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of
him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the
things that are made, even his eternal
power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: this would bring to the mind of Paul's readers
Genesis 1 and 2. Paul continues his thoughts in Rom 1:24-28 about the sin of
homosexuality being against nature, against what God intended for man and woman
from the creation of the world and for all time.
1) uncleanness through
the lusts of their own hearts
2) to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
3) God gave them up
unto vile affections
4) for even their women did change the natural use into that which is
5) likewise also the
men, leaving the natural use of the woman
6) burned in their
lust one toward another
7) men with men
working that which is unseemly
8) God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are
And we also have 1Co
6:9-10… I want to mention one more thing about what I see as a myth, namely
that “orientation” is not a sin, I would like to suggest that it is, based on
scripture and the doctrine of the fall of man / original sin and how the bible
teaches that we have all inherited a sinful fallen human nature. Example, a lot of men have an orientation
towards lusting after women, some men may have an orientation towards anger, an
orientation towards being a liar, an orientation toward adultery, an
orientation toward fornication, all these are part of our sinful fallen human
nature, so having an homosexual orientation is also sinful, BUT there is a
difference between forgiven Christians who, as Paul says in 1Cor 6:11 WERE SOME
OF YOU from verses 9-10, Paul does NOT say, ARE SOME OF YOU…
1Co 6:11 And such WERE
some of you: but ye ARE WASHED, but ye ARE SANCTIFIED, but ye ARE JUSTIFIED
in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
For a Christian to list homosexuality
and beastility together, you need to understand the context in
how it was said, since both together are called abominations. IF not repented of both will have to answer for their
sins, IF the one who committed beastility gains heartfelt repentance he
will be forgiven, IF the active homosexual refuses to repent, of what the bible
calls an abomination, he will be sent to hell.
My point is this, Christians
may be struggling with their old nature / old man, Rom_6:6,
Eph_4:22, Col_3:9. BUT, “Christians are NOT their temptations”.
Those outside of Christ, none-Christians ARE their sins / abominations
because they have not truly repented and have not been forgiven by Christ. Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come
short of the glory of God; Act 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked
at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
I hope I was able to properly
get my point across on how I see compromise is going on, I’m guessing at the heart of this is not to hurt the feelings
of others, But what about being faith and true to God’s word first, if truth spoken causes hurt feelings then so be
it, God can still use hurt feeling to bring about repentance in others, 2Co 7:9 -10, 2Tim_2:25, Titus. 3:2.
Please understand that by posting this I'm NOT insulting anyone. I'm simply point out what the scriptures says. Simply that Homosexuality and Beastility are both called Abominations by God.
Scripture where the Hebrew word is used. Based on the KJV Concordance.
Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove whatisthat good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
